buffalo hide

i have a buffalo hide that has been salted for 6 days.the humidity has been 50% plus for this time.it still very wet how long should it take to show signs of drying?     ps this is my first hide of any kind to salt                   jsk1

Just make sure to cover any bare spots with salt... 
      --As the salt dissolves in the moisture from the hide some parts of the hide may begin to show.  Cover these spots with more salt.

It also may help to elevate the hide off the ground to allow any moisture to drain.  Shipping palettes are a great way to do this.  They are plentiful and slightly broken ones can usually be procured for free.  The condition of the palettes won't matter for this purpose.
